The Philbodybuilders Alliance, Inc. or better known simply as “PBBA” is a non-stock, non-profit organization duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission since 2005 which aims to promote, uplift, strengthen and support the sport of bodybuilding and fitness, in general. It seeks to accomplish these goals by conducting periodic fitness and bodybuilding seminars as well as organizing bodybuilding competitions which it opens to all levels. These activities serve to promote the sport of bodybuilding by increasing visibility and awareness among the general public, and more importantly foster goodwill, camaraderie and sportsmanship among its participants/contestants.
The organization seeks to welcome all fitness enthusiasts, the serious or amateur bodybuilder as well as the recreational athlete or sportsman. On this our website, we sincerely believe and hope that everyone will find something that tickles his/her interest - either in the sport of bodybuilding or general fitness – to eventually spur him/her to hunger for more. After all, we take the maxim “health is wealth” as seriously as you do.
The present officers of the PPBA, at least most of them, are no strangers to the bodybuilding or fitness scene. They strive to keep abreast of current developments, trends and news in areas which they feel would be of relevance or interest to the fitness athlete or professional. Mr. Von Ryan Tauli holds the position of President of the organization. He is no stranger to competitive bodybuilding, having won the title of Mr. Luzon Overall Champion 2003, Mr. Northern Luzon Overall Champion 2004, Ginoong Maynila Overall Champion 2004 & Mr. Ironman 2nd Place 2003 and is currently a councilor for Benguet; The Vice-President, Mr. Donathan “Tiny” Carbungco, served as International Judge in International Bodybuilding Championship in Singapore 1990, the World Women’s Mixed Pair Bodybuilding Championship in Mexico City and the 8th ASEAN Bodybuilding Championship in Malacca Malaysia, as an International Referee in the Pre-qualifier International Paralympics (Powerlifting) Atlanta, Georgia 1995, Chef de Mission, Philippine Team at the International Paralympics (Powerlifting) Atlanta Georgia 1995 & as Tournament Director in Class B Powerlifting 1994 Championship; Mr. William Go, the PBBA Treasurer has competed and won in various bodybuilding and fitness competitions such as the SWI Mr. & Ms. Great Bodies (1999), Mr. Ironman, 2nd Place, 2000, the NAC Mr. Philippines Universe Qualifier Physique Division Champion, 2007 & the NAC Mr. Universe Hamburg Germany 5th Runner-Up Couples Division; Completing the roster is Atty. M. A. Christian Uy, a fitness enthusiast who serves as secretary / legal counsel to the group.
